What social benefits am I entitled to? New simulator from Social Security helps you find out.
Social Security has launched a new digital tool promising to make it easier to access information about available support and subsidies.
New simulator allows you to know the social benefits you may be entitled to access
According to the Social Security Institute (ISS), on Notícias ao Minuto, this new platform was created to make the rights verification process more accessible, without the need for travel or complex bureaucracy.
With intuitive operation, the simulator allows citizens to know, in a simple and fast way, what social benefits they may be entitled to, based on the entered data," explains the ISS.
Although it is a simulation and not binding, the tool is an excellent starting point to understand the social protection available for each situation.
How does the simulator work?
Access is done online, through the official portal of Segurança Social. Filling out the information takes, on average, seven minutes. The simulator analyzes the entered data and presents the social supports that apply, both to the user and their dependents.
However, it is important to note that the results apply only to the person performing the simulation. In other words, if other members of the household want to know the available support, they must do their own simulation.
What information will you need?
To ensure more accurate answers, the simulator requires the user to have on hand some personal and family data, such as:
- Professional and contribution situation;
- Composition of the household;
- Monthly income.
- Significant expenses.
The simulator itself indicates at the beginning which data is necessary, guiding the user step by step.
Limitations to take into account
The ISS alerts that the results presented depend entirely on the information provided by the user and are not formal guarantees of support allocation.
Furthermore, those who reside, work or have worked abroad may not see their situation accurately reflected, as the simulator is adapted to the Portuguese reality.
